Sustainability

noun: the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level.

LHP has always kept sustainability as a core focus without compromising quality and speed in manufacturing. Every category of manufacturing has a different set of skills and methods needed to create a state of sustainability throughout the process.

Hardware

HTB1LPzLXZ_vK1RkSmRyq6xwupXa2.jpg

Our regular hardware is made from environmental-friendly zinc-alloy. During the molding process, there is a lot of wastage. The material of this recycled hardware line is from the zinc-alloy wastage, which our factory carefully treated with no synthetic chemicals, so it can pass the Pro 65 standard.

To help our world’s water pollution problem, the recycled hardware is finished by water-based coating and has not been electroplated.

To further reduce environmental impact, solar panels are widely used in our facilities to generate electricity during our process as well.

All colored and plated metals are made by NANO PLATE (see information at the bottom of these pages), which is a technique that uses no heavy metals, eliminates wastewater and gas, and leaves no residue.

Sustainable benefits include the reduction of the following:

  • WASTEWATER POLLUTION

  • WATER

  • TOXIC WASTE

  • AIR POLLUTION

Corrosion and discoloration may appear after several washes.

Cotton & Nylon Labels

Our labels are made out of certified recycled yarn, which comes from vintage garments and factory scraps or plastic. They are boxed in recycled paper when shipped out.

They can be colored by flower & fruit extract.

100% Organic Cotton Labels

Our labels are made out of certified organic yarn which comes from organic cotton fields without having used any chemical products in the growth process to further protect our environment.

Print method utilizes water-based ink.

They can be colored by flower & fruit extract.

Recycled Paper Hangtags

Our hangtag papers are made from certified recycled paper. Our factories are lowering their water usage, working with 30% solar panels, and expanding their solar panels to 80% by 2021.

Nano-Plate

New technological advances have generated an unprecedented interest in nano-sized materials. This technology has potential opportunities in numerous industries for countless advanced applications. This interest derives from the unique properties inherent in materials sized in the range of nanometers.

Surface Technology, Inc. has applied its expertise in composite coatings to incorporate nano-sized materials. After more than a decade of research and development, composite electroless coatings with nano-sized particles are now commercially available from Surface Technology, Inc. These innovative coatings feature:

  • High hardness

  • Exceptional wear resistance

  • Excellent corrosion resistance

  • Enhanced thermal transfer

  • Unique surface characteristics

  • Conformity to all shapes and sizes including non-line of sight applications

  • Coverage of entire surfaces or selected critical areas

  • Applicability to many metals and alloys

Nano-Plate™ has received a positive review from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Department of Health and Human Services. Click here for details.

Incorporating fine diamond particles in nanometer sizes means a tremendous increase in diamond surface area within the composite, yet with few automorphic or cleavage faces thanks to the generally rounded surfaces of these advanced particles. The resulting composite is compatible with a wide array of mating materials including textiles, paper, plastics, seals, metals, and alloys.

Following are Taber abrasion test results for Nano-Plate™ 150 and hard chrome plating. In the Taber test method, a coated panel turns under two rotating abrasive wheels. Wear is measured as the weight loss of the panels following a specified number of rotating cycles. The lower the wear index, the lower the wear to the coating. The following results are based on an extensive test of 10,000 cycles.
